What makes you passionate about working in childcare?
I am passionate about working with the children and being able to help them gain as much knowledge as they can. I believe that the early years are the most vital and precious time for all children to learn and grow. I take pride in guiding the children to give each child the best possible start to their life through education. I enjoy inspiring the children to explore, learn and discover whilst building relationships with the children and creating memorable chapters in their life.
What is the funniest or most memorable moment you can share from working in childcare?
The most memorable and fulfilling moments that I can share is graduating my young children that I had the pleasure of transitioning to each room starting from the nursery room. Through this time, I felt happy and proud each year as I was able to see the children grow and develop. It gives me great satisfaction to see how the children progressed, especially during ‘milestone’ moments, and it is wonderful to celebrate their achievements together with the families.

What makes you passionate about working in childcare?
Working as an early childhood educator I am passionate about seeing children learn and develop through play. A career in early childhood can be very rewarding as it provides the opportunity to influence and shape the lives of young children and their families. Furthermore, assisting children with the skills and environment to be effective and engaged learners through school and the future becomes the ultimate goal I aim to achieve as well as creating a thriving environment for children and staff to continue and support their self-development.
What do you consider important when communicating with children?
As children begin to verbally and non-verbally communicate to their peers and educators, it is important to adjust the style of communication based on the child’s ability. Good communication can include active listening allowing children to respond back and absorb the information being given to them. Moreover, adapting and embedding good communication strategies into multiple experiences allows for continuous development as children become more confident in their learning environment.

How would you apply the National Quality Standards and the EYLF for educational programming?
The early learning framework provides a broad direction for early childhood educators to promote children’s learning. It provides guidance for educators in their curriculum decision making and assists them in planning, implementing and evaluating quality in early childhood settings. When looking at the national quality standards, quality area 1 – education programs and practice, the focus is on ensuring that the educational program and practice of early childhood educators is child centred, stimulating to spark children's interest, imagination and creativity and maximises children’s enhancement of play and learning.

What makes me passionate about Early Childhood Education?
Ever since I was a young teenager, it was always my dream to work with children and support them to be the best they can be and make a difference for our future generation. Working in an early childhood setting can be very rewarding knowing that I can influence and shape the lives of young children for them to be able to reach their full potential.
How would you apply the National Quality Standards and the EYLF for educational programming?
The educators ensure that the learning experiences implemented in the curriculum are aligned to the EYLF and NQS in relation to their identity, connection with community, wellbeing, confidence as learners and effective communicators. In doing so, the educators build strong relationship with the children and their families and also learn about the children’s current skills, cultures, strengths and abilities. These can be use as the foundation of the program. To ensure that in our planning we apply the NQS and the EYLF in our curriculum that we put learning tags based on these frameworks. We use the child note in Storypark to get inputs from the families that we could apply and link to our curriculum. Then we do weekly critical reflection regarding the curriculum to assess and evaluate if the learning activities that were implemented are aligned to the frameworks and benefitted children’s learning and development.
